What is the name of God? The Old Testament provides the letters YHWH, in Hebrew, about 6,519 times, as God’s name. The reason there are not vowels in this name is because, at the time of its writing, Hebrew did not have any vowels. The actual pronunciation has been lost. Some surmise that God’s name is pronounced, “Yahweh.” We quote from the World English Bible, which uses “Yahweh.” The most common English Bible translation of YHWH is “LORD”, usually shown in all capital letters.

Here are some of the attributes of our God, and below these are some of the verses describing them:

The One and Only God,

Loving, Righteous, Just, True, Infinite, Eternal,

Omnipotent (all powerful),
Omniscient (all knowing),
Omnipresent (present everywhere),

Savior, Father, Creator, Sustainer, King, Lawgiver, and Judge.

Verses from the World English Bible (WEB) translation.
